Sitia

A town with a continuing presence and a historical life which has its roots in ancient times. It's characterized by ancient wisdom, the love of life, its timeless musical tradition. Today it has a population of 9000.

The city is built in the style of an amphitheater on the eastern side of a hill sheltered from the west by the bay and is the first to welcome the sun which she is never without. The town is bathed in crystal clear light, glowing rose pink in the mornings and evenings giving the visitor delightful invitation to stay.

Sitia provides a modern airport with flights to and from Athens and a port with daily connections with Piraeus and other islands of the south east Aegean sea. A comfortable and safe road network connects Sitia with the other towns of Crete taking the visitors wherever they wish.
